A flavor, I has it.
Long story short, the ListServer is absolutly not for beginners and the light of heart.
It does require a moderate to higher understanding of how to host. Ie: PHP + MySQL

Aww... well, is anyone going to be hosting an open-listserver us to direct our Gservers to?

Without altering the source code, right now you would need to host a fully-functional VBulletin forum in order to keep track of accounts.
If you don't know how to do that, I suggest waiting until the current listserver is rewritten to support SMF. (Which, unlike VBulletin, is currently free.) Then you could theoretically set up your own listserver, assuming you know enough about web hosting, php and MySQL.

I'd say an open listserver is a bad idea. Anyone could just load up a load of spoof servers and flood the list.
I don't know how it is now or how its working, but I'm sure if you ask nicely enough you could be added to the existing listserver (currently 'down' due to the forum switch).

It's a old version. Doesn't work with the latest GServer, you need to modify your gserver for it to work

Hey, I've got a mysql server hosted, so do I just need a database of the server locations and account names?
Otherwise would someone be able to post an example. ???
Thanks!
